What is Quixotism?

Well, as lame a beginning as it is for any paper, I should still get in mind the definition of the word. Here's a link that does so:

The word is derived from one Don Quixote, whose history I know very little about, other than being a fictional character from a novel by Cervantes, as well whose history I know little about. So, what am I doing with quixotism as a website name, and what is this website?

To begin, the reason for the name is as simple as a friend having mentioned the word as one that reminded him of me. After reading its definition, I too thought it was the perfect word for me. I'm into a fairly odd mix of things, and that is something I pride myself in. Poi twirling, contact juggling, electronics, wood carving, inventing...among other things. And I can be idealistic when I want. As in, I expect you to believe that with no further backing, because I'm too lazy to bring up examples right now.

This website was around in some form for quite awhile, although only recently have I been making updates to it. It might seem a bit scattered, something I hope to fix in time (You know, I'm just saying that, I'll never get around to it), but its purpose is to be my personal website, with articles I write about random feelings and things wrong with American society, how-tos about interferometers and technical and non-technical projects, pictures of my art, information about robotics, and whatever else I feel like writing about. Since this site is indeed pretty random, I'll do my best to explain the purpose and background for each article. In time, that is...

In the end, I hope that my website can provide people with a bit of a spark to go learn about things they didn't know about before, to be creative and try new stuff, or just be entertained intellectually for a bit.
