Why Orange on Black?
Nobody's asked yet, but perhaps someone was thinking it (or not): Why is my text orange on a black background?
Although I like the colors and they're in fashion every October, there is actually a real reason for it. It is, simply put, because these colors are best on the eyes. I read somewhere (you'll find that the majority of my sources are from this same place..."somewhere". Usually I find things in some forgotten magazine article or web page or...somewhere...), I read that orange text on a black background was researched to be the kindest to eyes on a monitor screen.
Now, I use computers a lot, and I have to tell you that my eyes are definitely worse for it. I just wish there was a better way (can't wait for electronic paper). If you have similar eye strain, you can increase the text size on most Internet pages and browsers (under the View menu) to make for easier reading. Also, don't forget to look away from the monitor, at some distant object such as a tree every few minutes or so.
Since this site is mostly text-based, I thought it best for the reader (and the developer) to use pleasing colors for reading. I find it to be very pleasing indeed. Don't you?
